Every country in the world has its own national dish. Suya – thin slices of meat on a skewer, coated in special spices and baked in an oven – is one of Nigeria’s. DW reporter Jan Philipp Scholz went to Lagos to sample the best Suya in town.

  1. Rather sad to see people think upgrading their traditional food involves plating it in foreign ways. Food evolves, yes, but does it have to cost one's identity?
